The NF‑κB oligonucleotide decoy is also being developed as an aerosol formulation or nebulizable powder for treatment of airway diseases such as asthma. 

Extensive preclinical testing has established that the NF‑κB decoy is effective in reducing cell infiltration and decreasing the airway hyper-responsiveness that accompanies an asthmatic attack.
