Skin Disease

Meyer Pharmaceuticals is developing a series of oligonucleotide decoy products for treating inflammatory disease directly at the disease site. 

The leading indication for the oligonucleotide decoy is skin disease.  MP40 is being formulated for administration directly to the skin for the treatment of atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.

Our collaborating partner, AnGes MG Inc., has conducted a Phase I clinical trial for atopic dermatitis in Japan.  The product is safe in humans, and investigator-sponsored trial in patients with atopic dermatitis is good preliminary evidence of efficacy.  The patients reported an improvement in symptoms, and facial skin lesions showed signs of repair.

A Phase II study for atopic dermatitis is being concluded in Japan, with results to be reported at the end of 2007.  Meyer Pharmaceuticals intends to initiate the first Phase II trial for skin disease in the United States.
